ALEXANDRIA. This gallery is known for offering a beautiful and eclectic mix of art at prices that won't bust your budget. A recent installation titled "Spirit and Myth" featured pieces focusing on mythical stories from around the world and throughout history. The cooperative gallery features the works of 11 local artists, each possessing a unique style, and receptions are held often so that shoppers can meet the artists and learn more about their influences. DUPONT CIRCLE. Jane Haslem has an extensive collection of American works on paper from the latter half of the 20th century. Her exhibits specialize in pieces by female artists, and you will see etchings, watercolors, oil paintings, silkscreen and woodcut prints. She has been collecting and displaying art since 1960.
